At one point in the Vatican, it felt like every corner I looked had a longer history than the Philippines as a whole.

Me and my dad in front of Saint Peter's Basilica.

It's no secret that Italy and the Vatican included have some of the most wonderful art and architecture in the history of mankind. Dating back thousands of years, once the center of the Roman Empire, Italy has seen history. Remnants of that still remain to this day.

There's so much to cover I won't touch on all topics, and I'll post pictures of things I haven't talked about at the end of this blog. My favorite place in all of Italy is Venice. Going to Venice is obviously strange, on a train over the Venetian Lagoon. And there are no borders between Venice's buildings and the water! Venice is unique, to its always salty smell to the winding passages and canals.

Venice is known for its Gondolas. And how expensive Gondola rides are...

The Vatican Museum

The Vatican Museum is one of the most well known in the world, and for good reason. So much history and so little time... to give you some perspective, if you wanted to visit every room in the Vatican Museum, you would have to walk almost 15km, seeing 20,000 pieces of art for public viewing! At one point in the Vatican, it felt like every corner I looked had a longer history than the Philippines as a whole.

A hallway in the Vatican Museum. Gilding, Gilding everywhere...

One of several fountains in the Vatican. In Rome, the plumbing system is thousands of years old, but the water is safe to drink!

There are also many lovely churches/basilicas throughout Italy. I'll show these here. There are many other places I've seen in Italy, such as the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, etc.
